Position Overview

Teradata GDC is looking to add a Senior Data Scientist to our Data Science team.

1. We design, develop & deliver Data Science, Machine Learning, and Artificial Intelligence solutions addressing real-world business problems for our global clients in domains as diverse as Retail, Finance, and Healthcare to Oil & Gas, Hospitality, and Telecommunications.
2. These solutions incorporate cutting-edge ML and AI tools with our best-in-class cloud analytics platform Vantage. Interested candidates should have strong analytical skills, business understanding preferably in Retail, Finance, and/or telecommunications with excellent communication skills and an understanding backed by the experience of DWH and Cloud concepts.
3. Lead Teradata Data Science delivery teams in supporting account teams and prospective customers to analyze and understand customer requirements through extensive data exploration phases
4. Work directly with prospective customers’ technical resources to devise and recommend solutions based on the understood requirements.
5. Work on POC and Pilot Projects to showcase the benefits of Advanced Analytics, Deep Learning, Cloud, and Big Data Technologies to customers.
6. Use Analytical tools and Deep Learning frameworks; like SAS, Python, R, DeepStream, TensorFlow, AzureML, etc., to deliver the required analytics solutions
7. Strong hands-on data wrangling and number-crunching skills to develop the right insights
8. Present findings to IT and Business stakeholders.
9. Actively participate in brainstorming sessions to come up with possible solutions/analytics.

Required Qualification & Skills

1. Minimum Masters Degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Business Administration, or Statistics. Preferably a Doctorate in the relevant field
2. 6-8+ years’ experience in the data-driven field (e.g. BI, DWH, Analytics, etc.).
3. Hands-on experience with programming languages (e.g. R, Python, Java, etc.)
4. Comfortable with and experience using SQL.
5. Strong concepts with Statistical concepts. In-depth understanding is a plus.
6. In-depth understanding of Machine Learning concepts and statistical modeling.
7. Exposure and Experience with Artificial Intelligence and Deep Learning
8. Ability and willingness to learn.
9. Very strong analytical skills.
10. Experience in data analysis is a plus.
11. Good communication skills.
12. Ability to independently manage critical situations.
13. Team player.
14. Business understanding for at least one field.
15. Story building skills.
